AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

4/24/2020 - TPSD Announces New Food Delivery Plans - The TUPELO PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT has added a page to their website: "Educational Resources for Parents and Students". The links on their site will provide pertinent information that is grade level specific. they also have available instructions on how to navigate the various programs that students are going to be using for distance learning.


The United Way has a complete list of schools in Tupelo and Lee County that will be handing out meals for children while school is not in session.

FEEDING THOSE IMPACTED

If you or your children are impacted by the loss of school meals or a loss of income due to workplace closures, please contact Jason Martin, executive director of the Tupelo/Lee County Hunger Coalition, for information on emergency food resources.

Clinton, Miss. – Mississippi Department of Revenue Response to Requests for Relief

The Mississippi Department of Revenue is aware of the new pressures on the business community and state governments in responding to the COVID 19 pandemic. We are committed to doing what we can to help provide relief and certainty to our taxpayers.

Extensions of Filing Deadlines -- While the federal government and many other states have postponed their income tax filing and payment deadlines to July 15, Mississippi has currently elected to move its filing deadline to May 15 in order to meet our statutory requirements of a balanced budget as of the fiscal year end, which is June 30. The Department issued this extension with legislative input and input from our governor’s office. We cannot move this deadline out past the fiscal year end without express direction from the legislature and the governor because this will create a $500,000,000 deficit for the current fiscal year... MOVE ON UP MS

Move on Up MS is a non-profit seeking to assist families who have been impacted by the Coronavirus crisis. Applicants can apply by emailing COVIDhelp@moveonupms.org describing their personal and family situation, the preferred method of communication, or calling the Move On Up office at 662-234-9300.
